In conjunction with
community groups a wide range of programs has been developed over the years to provide holistic and
integrated primary health and development in the
communities partnered with CRHP. Each village
conducts only those programs which promote their
particular needs and interests. CRHP promotes and
encourages preferential participation for dalits and
tribals in all programs, especially income
generating programs.
The implementation of comprehensive community-based
primary health care entails working to improve the
environment and sanitation, providing clean drinking
water, education in health, legal, social,
agricultural and other areas of local interest. CRHP
promotes the use and development of appropriate
technology which promotes the well-being and quality
of life for people in our project villages. At the
forefront of our appropriate technology program is
the highly successful and widely distributed Jaipur
foot (artificial limbs program) as well as the
watershed program to improve water usage and
conservation in draught-prone areas.
